Default Escapism

In the constant search some have...make that many....for entertainment....one of the recent and very popular developments in Western ( soon to be heading to the Far East) society is gathering up a few amigos and escaping the clutches of a murderer.

Take a gander at this :

Survive the Room Experiences

Escape rooms are all the rage these days, and for good reason: they provide thrilling group experiences that are great for team bonding and a night out with your friends. The premise? You and your crew are trapped in a room—the exact reason why you're trapped varies from location to location. You must now work together to find clues hidden throughout the space if you wish to escape. Oh, and you've got to do it in under an hour.
Escape rooms can be found throughout the country, including New York, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Some destinations elevate their storyline to sinister heights—in "I Survived The Room," in New York, you can choose to be committed to a sanatorium; in "The Basement," in Los Angeles, you're trying to escape a demented killer's clutches. Don't live near one of these spots? No problem: click below for a comprehensive directory of every escape room on the planet.

I've posted links to the Escape Rooms in which parties of people attempt to escape Jack The Ripper. It seems to etched in stone that in time more killers...eventually other serial killers....will have their own rooms.

Hi Howard. We have two popular ones in Tulsa. I've been to one a couple of times. A lot of fun. You pay a set price for a group whether it's two people or six, so good for family or co-workers.

Yours truly,

Tom Wescott

TC:

Sounds like fun.....we have several in Philadelphia.

16 in this one

There's a few JTR-themed ones in the States....some in Europe too.

I mentioned the new development in this thread as we already have a 'sticky' thread in Ripper Media for the Ripper ones because the companies appear to be including other murderous figures in their repertoire.

Oh goodness, I'd love to go through a Ripper themed one. Great idea.

String...

I've invented a special theme escape for you, old buddy..
You're the wide eyed and bushy tailed Irish tourist-slash-idealist lost in Philly's Badlands.

You've got 100 bucks in your pocket and have to make it to Eagleville via I-76 starting from 11th & Diamond...without getting robbed, car stolen, or beaten up. We start at 12 AM, Midnight on Friday night. You have two hours.

Game ?

We have a Da Vinci (i.e. Dan Brown) version here which was pretty good. I was hoping to see the Ripper display at The London Dungeon but it was booked solid on the day I wanted to visit. Next time!

Cheers,
Adam.

We don't have escape rooms around these parts, but we do offer canoe trips down the Buffalo River with Ned Beatty. And if you make it without squealing like a pig you get free banjo lessons.
