Default Suggestions for Chatroom Topics

This thread is for people to suggest topics for future chats. I'll look in on this thread and add your suggestions to a list that I'll keep for my own reference.

Previous topics:

"Why Do Fools Believe... Oddball and goofy theories and suspects."

"Behold! I have become the Blue Screen of Death, Destroyer of Hard Drives! Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair!"

What about the reverse of that previous topic -

Why don't people want to believe the truth?

I have a suspicion that no matter how much evidence is found to solve the mystery once and for all, most people will not believe it as I feel there seems to be more to Ripperology than finding the real culprit.

I don't do chat - my typing fingers wouldn't be quick enough - but here's a topic : apart from "who was Jack?" which mystery in the case would you most want solved?

E.g. unravelling Kelly's background
A photo of Abberline
Why did Druitt kill himself?

etc etc

Hi Dan

"The Goulston Street Graffito" is always a good topic, and maybe we could fix up a special chat with Monty on that, since he has written about it.

Another topic would be "Did Jack Write Letters?" and would be sure to lead to some lively conversation.

Magpie has written for Ripperologist about the issue of the farthings in Hanbury Street, although not so much whether they were really there or not, but the fact that there were cases of bright shiny farthings being passed off as half sovereigns, so maybe the story is not so much fiction as people think. In any case, "The Question of the Arrangement of Organs and Possessions at the Murder Scenes" could also be an interesting topic.
