Well, he did become approver to save himself. But he seems to have gone beyond that. If I recall properly, he turned up at the Parnell Commission. He seems to have made things up for the "strokes" involved.

Hi Debra,

A slight variation on the Boston Journal of Health article you originally posted appeared in the New Orleans Medical and Surgical Journal, Vol 16, 1888-1889.

It was in a "London Letter" from "Our Regular Correspondent", November 1888—
