Default Non-Suspect Reemerges

Chris Phillips and Don Souden remarked on this elsewhere.

You can leave a message, according to CGP...on that link.

Unbelievable...

In my view there are 4 major reasons why individuals ( now...in 2011 ) posit one person or the other as being the Ripper...excluding suspects such as Kozminski or Druitt.

Delusion, ego, a chance to recoup expenditures used in research...or disdain for the field.

I detect a little of the latter in this case.
The quicker people recognize that Ripperology is a discipline in the making...as it already is in some circles....the less of this sort of thing we'll see.

Any other opinions ?

Jenni's articles in Ripper Notes debunking this piece of work is an inspiration to all researchers and Ripperologists.

We have discovered that Tony Williams is doing a book signing in Swansea on Saturday. Myself, Trevor Bond and Nathen Amin might be popping by for a chat!

Many individuals with ripper theories from 1888 onwards, whether they be wildly or mildly wacky, seem to think they have been put on God's earth to identify the ripper, be it via a family relationship back through the generations to some poor devil in the surgical profession; the personal discovery of an unpublished document naming a new suspect or adding information about a known one - or the up close and personal contemporary involvement with some notorious character.

I'm thinking particularly with this last one of the latest fantastic work done by Debs and Rob Clack to identify the ex-detective James as one early theorist who fondly imagined that in his arch-enemy, the blackmailer and fraudster Le Grand, he had found the very Ripper.

Maybe we should call it the Williams Effect.

But then dear Tony is only one in a rather long line of ripper-illogical victims.

Love,

Caz
