Default WARNING - Inactive Account Deletion Coming Soon

There are currently 118 of the 282 site members who have not even logged in for over a year. Deletion of these inactive accounts is imminent. If you are registered but not logging in for some reason, or know someone who falls into this category, then please either log in or advise that someone to.

Pruning of these 'dead' accounts can be conducted en masse with only 2 commands and this will begin on January 22 - next Saturday.

A reminder - this forthcoming pruning is NOT indexed to post count. You don't have to post, but you DO have to log in at least once a year to remain active.

Cool

I was just thinking that some people may not be aware that they are not logging in. Now this isn't as stupid as it sounds because my browser logs me in automatically each time I visit so the only way I know I'm logged in is if I see my name top right on the screen. As in welcome String. Also if you have lost your password contact Tim or Howard by email.

Admin tim never lies and never bluffs.

I have just now deleted the accounts of 104 members who have not even logged on to the site for the last 400 days. The posts are still there, but their identities are now anonymous.

It is possible to rejoin if no bridges have been burned, but to maintain one's membership here will require you to log in at least once a year. Not a lot to ask.

As usual, a donation to the site will grease the wheels for such things.

I haven't used the site for ages, family situations stopped me spending the kind of time I used to online. I hope to get back into the swing of things soon. I hope I'm not deleted.

At least I can hold onto my copy of the priceless slim first edition 'How's Winning Captions' which I was going to send to Tim as blackmail to keep me in.

Dear WFX:

Ain't nothing about me "slim"...why, I weigh almost 1/2 of what Tim weighs now.
Good to see you back.
Just one more person to pick on me.....

Six more accounts with 400 or more days of inactivity have just been deleted.

Pruning the dead wood allows us to have bigger avatars. Years ago, when it was just Howard and me, mine was page-size.
