Default From Chris Scott: To my friends on Forums - health issues

Hi all
I have been suffering from various health issues for a large part of this year and at last these have been diagnosed. I felt very tired and lethargic etc and last week after a series of tests it was confirmed that I have CLL - chronic lymphatic leukemia.
I have my first consultant appointment next week, 7 November, and will know much more then. From what I gathered from my own doctor we have caught it early and the form I have is the most common and the most easily treated.
I am blessed with a great doctor and a very good local hospital and a very supportive network of family and friends.
I just wanted folks to know why I will not be posting in the near future as obviously treatment and recovery are uppermost in my mind at the moment.
I also wanted people that I am not in any danger and the outlook for recovery is very good.
All the very best
Chris Scott

Hi Chris

Of course you must look after your health, and I am relieved to hear that this is treatable. My very best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear this, hope you feel much better soon. It hits home a little as I also had tests for this when I had similar symptoms to you about 10 years ago now. Eventually I was diagnosed with the mouthful persistant polyclonal B cell lymphocytosis. I'm very rare apparently! Unfortunately my haematologist says there aren't enough people with it to know what the long term prognosis will be for sure.
Here's to your successful treatment and quick recovery.

Sorry to hear about this, and I hope that you get it sorted. Please keep on at them about check ups and scans etc, don't let them drop the ball. Take it easy, and if you need anything you know where we are.

Hi Chris

Sorry to hear the news. The very best of luck to you -- get well soon. I think it is good that you have confidence in your physician as well as having a good local hospital and a supportive network of family and friends.

All the best

Chris
