Sadly it resulted in him being paralysed from the waist down. He went back to Maidstone late May for a few weeks and is currently in Stoke Mandeville under going heavy rehabilitation work to give him as much mobility as possible.

At this moment in time he's still unable to walk and it's not known whether he will be able to in the future, but he is actually quite cheerful and is adjusting to his situation. The likelihood is that once he's completed his rehab he'll be able to go home.

Best wishes

To follow on from Adams post, I visited Paul in Guys early May, days after the initial op.

He was still very tired, for obvious reasons, and our chat was interrupted by various assessments being done, however it was the same old Paul, sharp as a tack despite the medication.

And I could tell he enjoyed the mass of young Nurses pampering after him.

Chris
The problem Paul had was internet access in hospital Chris. Im not sure what the access is like where he is now. Adam is in regular contact so Im sure he can find out.

I do mail and text Paul from time to time and will gladly pass on any messages you may have.

Hi Chris,

As Neil says, Paul had no internet access at all during his early days in hospital, but he now has a mobile broadband stick which enables him to pick up emails when he feels up to it.

So either email him or send messages to me, I'm very happy to pass them on.

All the best
Adam

Adam:
Short time ago, Paul contacted me...a meaningful message.
He's fighting like a sonofabitch to regain his abilities.
My money is on Paul.

He better had How... Paul promised he'd walk with me to my local pub and buy me a beer. And I'm getting mighty thirsty ;-)
