Yes, told me so yesterday.

Apparently Don is slowly getting better. Will be nice if he's allowed to use his laptop again, even with one hand.

Let's hope so. Right now, written communications will cheer him up until he can get his coordination back.

I talked to Don this afternoon. He sounded good considering what he's been through. Gave him some scuttlebutt on what's been discussed on the boards and that got some sage responses. He just doesn't like the nurses trying to make him eat.

Any updates or further talks on the phone with Don, Cris?

I got him a threedimensional, colorful card plus 2 colorful threedimensional bookmarks for when he "re-learns" to read. There are some jokey words inscribed in big letters and different colors on these bookmarks.

I think he'll enjoy those, Maria; something to stimulate the mind. I plan on calling him either today or tomorrow.

If you call him, Cris, would you mind giving him all my bestest wishes too, and if he's lively and remembers, maybe also tell him "Maria thanks you for all the advice"? It's a little private joke.

Hope the stuff I'm sending him won't make him dizzy, cuz it looks graffiti-like.

I talked to Don on Friday. He said he appreciated the card and bookmarks, Maria. That was most thoughtful.

I tried to fill him in on some of the discussion on the boards but he wanted to talk baseball. The road to the World Series is underway. Of course you can imagine what a Yankees fan and a Cardinals fan might talk about.

Don wants to get his computer set up in his room when he is able.

Wow, great about him getting his computer set up in his room!

I don't know the first thing about baseball, and I guess Don won't care to talk about surfing. ;-) I might call him on the phone myself when I get back to Berlin.

I'm now on Fuerteventura but spent the last 3 days grounded in my tiny room here, doing rewrites for a few chapters of my book manuscript. :-O
