Default Blizzard Of '16

The East Coast is expecting a little snow this weekend....over two feet in D.C....close to that in Philly....and slightly less in NYC, if not mistaken.

Good time to hunker down, pop open a Ripper book, relax, get the wife a snow shovel and shawl and point her in the right direction....the drive way.

Anyway, be careful comrades.

Unfortunately, we've had a little boy missing since last Thursday. He was found yesterday afternoon...unfortunately too late. They were calling in the searchers because of this coming weather system. At least he was found before the snow hit - little consolation that it is. I've experienced a lot of tragedy in my time but this one has torn my heart out.

No, not kin, but everyone really pulled together to find Noah and came to know him in a way through this effort. There was a guy who flew into Memphis from California, rented a car and drove the hour to these backwoods to help search for him. Noah was only 2 1/2 years old.

West Virginia has close to 30 inches now....they said this area had received 14-15 5 hours ago. I think it has to be around 20 inches now....

I remember 20 years ago when this area received 36 inches. We thought we were the shit.
However, West Virginia received 48 inches in the same amount of time.
Always someone who has things worse....

Made a feeble attempt at measuring the accumulation...but the wind blew me away. Really strong winds to boot....

So...I decided to check it out online :

Blizzard Warning
Southeastern PA
Snow accumulations: 15 to 20 inches south and east of Philadelphia. 20 to 25 inches with locally higher amounts up to 30 inches from Philadelphia north and westward .

Its definitely 17 inches in Philly right now....9th biggest in history....a little less than half of the 1996 blizzard's accumulation.

We is in the westward regions.......

It might seem an exaggeration, but although its been snowing for 18 hours or so.....its actually snowing harder now than at any time.
