This shot was taken around 10:00 am this morning while the snow was still falling. They've since plowed back behind our apartment building along with the building next door. There's still though a whole line of snow-buried cars behind that the building. Now 10:30 pm at night and the falling snow seems to have stopped but it's still blowing a gale out there.

Also -- from morning until this evening there was a snowplow stuck at the end of our street. After much effort it was finally extricated around dinnertime.

Crazy to think that while such conditions prevail overseas, here we are in the grip of a drought, with bushfires abounding and in desperate need of prolonged rain.

Stay safe and warm over there everyone!

Cheers,
Adam.

I'm not far from Philly International Airport and I'm buried. I have a hospital 3 blocks down the street from me, so the way was kept very clear. The only good news for me about the storm was I had yesterday off.

How much accumulation did you get, Joanie ?

They claim we received anywhere from 21-24 over on the other side of Norristown. Seems like more.

The city got 22.4 inches ( I think that's airport stats...).
I know we topped that around here.
4th biggest in recorded history ( Philly)....and surprisingly the three storms which exceeded this one were within the last twenty years ( 1996, 2009, and 2010). I almost forgot the last two and am genuinely surprised those had higher totals.

I just told Nina after she came in from the mandatory shoveling that she shouldn't complain so much....seeing that she's 'been there before' and it was worse then. Women are such whiners.

Eagleville is within Lower Providence Township....not sure where this poor man lived. Couldn't be that far away...maybe a street or two over.

Saturday, January 23, 2016 11:56PM
LOWER PROVIDENCE TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- An 88-year-old man died while shoveling snow in Montgomery County.

Officials say the man suffered a fatal heart attack Saturday in Lower Providence Township.

Doctors say a big concern with shoveling snow is the heart.

They recommend if you are over the age of 55 or have a chronic medical condition, have someone else do the shoveling.

Tip to all would be shovelers...get the wife or a woman to do it. You'll notice that only men die from shoveling snow. Chicks have a secret way of doing it or something.--HB

Didn't stick my nose out the door to check. Been hiding since Friday, but it looks to be about close to 2ft. Maybe a little under.
