Richard Whittington-Egan 1924-2016
Just learned of the passing of Richard Whittington-Egan, crime writer for 61 years. SPE informed the Facebook Forums group two hours ago.
Mr. Egan was born in Liverpool on October 22nd, 1924.

Richard was perhaps the last of the "old school" criminologists. He'll be sorely missed. Writers of his calibre are rare.
Since my teens I've enjoyed reading many of his books, and not just his books on crime. The Quest of the Golden Boy, 1960, is my personal favourite.
