How, et al;

It should be noted that the person who reproduced Tom Robinson's book is not the same person who tracked it down. It takes two names to answer this question correctly.

Cheers,

Robert

Hi Magpie,

Just for clarity here is a picture taken from John Morrison's book "Jimmy Kelly's Year of Ripper Murders". It is itself from a newspaper clip and states that "He was at Marie Kelly's graveside on Wednesday to mark the erection of a headstone in her memory"

If setting up threads like this will get RJM postin' again...I gotta do more of them.

Bob...the information I had was that only one person tracked down the Robinson book...so what we can do,if you would like to help out,is wait until one of these names is supplied and then you can give the other one that I was unaware of.

Good to see you by the way.

And on the back cover of the same book I found the following, which seems to confuse matters more than ever!

Thanks John!

That's a nicer picture than the one I have, which is a "grave's eye" view of Mr. Morrison looming over the gravestone beneath a bleak a blustery sky.

Is the celtic cross visible in the picture? It's hard to see with all that white stone.

I'm filing an official Maltese Protest!!! (Blow the kazoos!)

In question #2, Morrison organized it, but he wasn't the supplier!

Howard has been grumpy ever since the Phillies were knocked out of the baseball playoffs...I think this case should go to an unbiased arbitrator...I nominate Mr. Savage!

If we're going to split hairs, the question says:

Quote:
"2. 21 years ago,Mary Kelly got a headstone for her grave. Who supplied it?"
Since the stone in question didn't, in fact, end up on Kelly's grave, then Mary Kelly didn't "get" the stone, so who supplied it is moot....

One of the traditional rules of life is "never pinch a girl's backside if she has an ex-con boyfriend who is 6 foot 6 and can kick your ass..."

The other is "don't offend those Maltesians...they throw a mean cream pie.."

Or was it..."never pinch a Maltesian's backside.." ???? I forget.

So in deference to Lord Chetcuti of Malta...the answer he provided is half right.

The final answer is Thomas Bates....for number 9.

Lord Chetcuti sounds ok Howard, but I really had my heart set on becoming a Duke. Those Dukes can really boss around the Barons, Earls, and Counts.

Please tell me if I got this right or not...

"21 years ago" in 1986, Morrison organized a task which resulted in having a headstone placed on Kelly's grave.

But according to the web link below, in February 1998, Ripperologist Magazine published an article by James Marsh which stated that in 1988, not 1986, a headstone supplied by John Sears was carved for Kelly's grave.

http://www.casebook.org/dissertation...uneralmjk.html

And now if I understand this, Magpie is telling us that this headstone that was supplied and carved by John Sears didn't end up on Kelly's grave after all.

I'm typing this with a light-heart, so relax everyone! But it strikes me odd that a 1998 article was published which spoke of a headstone for Mary Kelly getting carved...which was never placed on her grave.

Sincerely,

Duke Chetcuti
