Default Help Finding Threads On The Forums

I've spent ages this evening looking for an old thread on here about the'Embankment Killer' and Crickmer, I added a lot of information on the torso murders to this thread and really need to find it again as i've lost some of my old notes and need a few references from it.
Can anyone help locate it?
Also, what happens to older threads? do they get deleted or archived and become unsearchable as I also posted some information on a thread about Mary Jane Rees (not the one that comes up in a search started by peter young) and I need something I posted to that thread too.

Thanks for any help locating either.

Could this be it? Howie had it listed among notable threads:

James Crickmer

Thanks for trying , Chris, but the first link is to an invalid thread, which is the same problem I encountered when looking for it and the second link to Mary jane Rees is the thread I mentioned in my post as being started by peter young and isn't the one I wanted .There was one that had research on Abi Kelly of Lanelli and some adverts that Mary Jane Rees used in the press which I posted on there and really want to find again.

Then I suggest you get Tim or Howard to figure it out for you. Good luck. Are you sure you posted these items here... or could they be at Casebook?

Chris

Of course I'm sure they were on here.
The MJRees thread had a little story about 'Teutonic' posted on it by Paul Begg.

If the posts are more than a certain age, Howard has archived them elsewhere and deleted them from the site in the interest of bandwidth. Also, he thinks that the hoi polloi will be willing to pay $20 for a CD of the old stuff. Imagine.

Chris's first link was to The Embankment Killer of 1888 & 1889 and it works fine for me. This is found in the General Jack T. Ripper forum.

I think that the material which you seek, if it isn't in the thread above, must be in Howard's possession. We'll have to wait until he returns from visiting his parole officer to ask him.

Ok, thanks. I normally keep copies of articles I post but I've switched computer and lost some of them
I still can't get the link Chris posted to work it just links to an invalid thread for me. I've also tried searching through user CP and threads I have posted on but can't get it that way either. I'll wait until How is around then.

Debs:

Sorry for the slow reply but I had just wasted 45 minutes on a story from 1927...which I didn't realize was available elsewhere. I used 16 scans for it and it was time consuming.

One more for you.

Don't fret. All the posts will appear shortly. They're there and I've seen them.
