Default Hi there

Stuart here, from London.

New to "ripperology" (awful term!), but hoping to learn from all you expert types.

Welcome to the Forum Stuart,
Should you regard 'ripperology' to be such awful term, then please feel free to provide a viable alternative appellation. There is much to be learned in these hallowed pages and it would be prudent to read, dissimulate and ultimately absorb. Incidentally, we do have experts on this topic, none of whom identify as being 'types'
Kind Regards,
Merv

Apologies, Merv. I appear to have made a less than good impression with my first post!

Ripperology - I certainly wasn't meaning to attack the people under that epithet, rather, I guess I just dislike neologisms. But far be it from me to criticise, a) as a newbie b) as I don't have a better alternative!

'types' - I was simply using a vernacular and was certainly not meaning to imply that any of you were 'types'

So.. let me re-phrase my introductory message:

Stuart here, from London.

New to "ripperology" , but hoping to learn from all you experts.

No worries, Stuart. Welcome to the Forums.

Please feel free to get stuck in and debate whatever you like with whomever you like, be they expert or novice. I always think that's the best way to learn with any subject.

It can sometimes benefit the expert too.

Welcome Stuart.

This link takes you to a location on the boards that apparently a lot of folks aren't aware of...our newspaper archive, probably as large as any in the world by now. Not sure which area of Ripperology you're most interested in, but the newspapers are one I enjoy...

Welcome Stu ,

You'll really love it here . Although watch out for those annoying Ripperologists from the dark side of the hobby , who only come here to shamelessly advertise stuff or so I was told one time at the UK conference which runs every year and will be back in London in November this year. www.crimeconference.com

They are just creeps
