And thanks for this link, Howard. Newspapers make the whole thing so much more real and immediate.

A question though.. how come the "Year by Year : In the news" does not seem to cover UK papers in 1888? (or maybe I just didn't find it)

When I began the project of the JTR Forums Newspaper Archive, there was no need to add UK papers from 1888 ( or lets say most of them ) since another site has them on their site. That would be Casebook.org.
