On the other hand, the Scottish prisons were different :

"If ye don't like it then ye know where ye can go, I'm thinking."

Bob:

It took incredible callousness on the part of the mystery paper from which the Gazette quoted to print an opinion of the court's decision that way....I think it may have been the Times....I'll check later.

Reminds me of a case in Philly in 1991....the infamous 'Coyote Ugly' case....although it was the Judge who effed up.

Not to divert the thread, but the Coyote Ugly incident was in no way Judge Avellino's worst moment behind the bench:

Oh dear. It's barristers that are supposed to be flamboyant, not judges.

Bob:

No one got flamboyant when I was on jury duty 12 years ago under Judge Barbara Lewis.

Her bailiff was former Philadelphia welterweight boxer 'Kitten' Hayward.

Default Och!

Hello Howard, Robert. And some of us are not suckers for sad violin music. (heh-heh)

There is a left pond expression about sad stories, "Tell it to the chaplain.")

Cheers.
