UPDATE: I have determined that Jarvis Benson on the RipperCon Facebook page beat you out by several hours. Sorry. Try again.

Cheers

You could win a nice War of 1812 something. Stay tuned.
Still need an answer to this one.

Prior loot winners not eligible to enter. Do you hear me now, Linford?

Hi Chris,

Julian's surname was actually Rosenthal. Lovely guy.

Love,

Caz

I've got an idea, but I'm disqualified from entering!

Hi Caroline

Sorry. I am dyslexic and have a problem with names that are similar to each other. Not a good situation for a man who writes for a living. I also lead tours and can't tell my left from my right. Another problem, i.e., "Bus driver, turn left here... No, no, I mean right!"

A story that I regularly tell is that I couldn't understand how actors Anthony Quinn and Anthony Quayle -- both of them of course in the 1962 epic "Lawrence of Arabia" starring Peter O'Toole in the title role -- could have the same name. Luckily I have now figured it out but it took me some years to do so!!!

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris,

Whoops, I didn't realise and hope my correction wasn't insensitive.

Funny you should mention having a problem with your left and right. I'm fine with my left and right - and my north and south - but hopeless with east and west! They just don't come naturally to me and I really have to stop and think about it whenever they crop up. For some reason I have to think of India for east but Cornwall for west.

As for Anthony Quinn and Anthony Quayle, who also both appeared in The Guns of Navarone [which I have been planning to watch again], I used to identify them by Quinn's long thin face and Quayle's rounder one.

Love,

Caroline

Yes you are correct about the name of the Australian Ripper magazine being Ripperoo but Jackie Murphy provided the correct answer last week on Facebook. Sorry! Better luck next time.

Still looking for an answer to this trivia question. What is the connection between the War of 1812 between Britain and the U.S. and the Jack the Ripper case? I wrote about it some years ago for Ripperologist magazine, as well as in the Journal of the War of 1812. Think water, think letters, knock twice and pray to Jesus. Good luck.

You could win a nice War of 1812 something. Stay tuned.
