Default Time After Time Cancelled March 29, 2017

In her review of “Time After Time” for Variety this month, Sonia Saraiya wrote, “The studied shallowness of ‘Time After Time’s’ approach to violence makes for a sickening dynamic that attempts to cheaply humanize a serial killer. And while a shallow look at violence might be all that broadcast television’s standards and practices will allow, it feels both flat and exploitative.”

Hooray! Good riddance to bad rubbish. At least the original movie had decent actors and a certain charm.

Viewers are measured in real time. A show has to make it in the first couple episodes or it is eliminated. While this show in question sounds terrible, that it aired on ABC also led to the death knell. I have a relative in the film and TV industry who worked on a very good show a few years ago, which aired on ABC, which couldn't draw enough viewers against the other networks.

Shows are ordered in small amounts so the plug can be pulled at any time.

My relative now works on one of the top ranked TV shows which is being renewed in large amounts.

We've been watching it because there's not much else on. I've found it to be sort of "50 Shades of Grey meets Twilight". That being said, last weeks's episode was the best so far. I guess they should have got their poop together from the get-go.

It was, at least, better the the execrable "Timeless"

Edit: maybe that's not fair--the sci-fi part of Timeless is quite good. Sadly the soap-opera part is not, and that's the part that's gaining the upper hand lately
