Default RipperCon 2018 is giving away swag!

Next RipperCon 2018 trivia question, with yet another special prize, all a precursor of the hour-long trivia contest that we will hold in Baltimore on the afternoon of Sunday, April 8.

Gut on Casebook Forums and Melisssa on our Facebook page, you've both won before so you are ineligible. One prize per customer is the rule going forward.

What is this man's real name?

Wow. That was fast!

I'll negotiate your prize on the side a little later, Mr. Linford. Meanwhile, very well done!

The photograph, incidentally, was taken in centennial year 1988 the same year that Michael Caine aka Maurice Micklewhite played Inspector Abberline in the film "Jack the Ripper."

In many ways, still one of the better film treatments of the Whitechapel murders given what is out there, and certainly the actor brought his usual believability to the role of Abberline.

Best regards

Chris

I owe you a prize, my good man. How about some newscuttings from 2000 when Sir Maurice Micklewhite received his knighthood from Her Majesty the Queen? If you are interested, I will need your mailing address and I will have them off to you. Send me a PM.

Best regards

Chris

Michael Caine has been around so long as an actor that it's hard to remember that he was once Maurice Micklewhite. The story is that he saw a movie cinema marquee advertising "The Caine Mutiny" starring Humphrey Bogart as an unbalanced U.S. Navy commander worried about strawberries.

Here we show the RipperCon trivia contest swag won by Robert Linford... The Daily Mail article about Caine getting knighted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in November 2000.

Hello everyone

Here's another trivia question for y'all, and you could be in line to receive some nice vintage postcard views.

This is a trivia question I asked at RipperCon 2016. No one who attended that event is allowed to answer.

What connects east London and Baltimore?

Good luck.

Chris

No.

I will be speaking in Liverpool this coming weekend. There is a Maryland Street in Liverpool, so the same sort of relationship could be said to exist between Baltimore and Liverpool. In fact, in the 19th Century, Baltimore was known as "The Liverpool of the East Coast of America."

Guess again.

Are you a sports fan, Gary?
