John Keefe showed me where to find a relative of Coles.....and I emailed that person.
If anything pops up, I'll post it here a.s.a.p.

Default Coles Kinfolk

Hi There!
My great grandmother, Rebekah Saunders COLES was a first cousin of Frances COLES. I first became aware of the connection when I was looking for information about a younger sister of Rebekah, also called Frances COLES, and I kept finding details of events in Whitechapel in 1891.
Since then (about 6 years ago) I have been researching her family and comp-aring the lives of the two cousins - one in Bristol and one in London - and wondering why she had never been mentioned by my branch of the family!
Glad to have the opportunity to share details about her family background.
Thanks to Howard for contacting me.
