Mr. Keefe brings up some interesting points in his book...which are worth reexamining...

I'll be sending him a list of questions for the 5Q With Forum within a day or so...and if you have one, by all means, please send it to me.

If you've read the second edition, please share you thoughts....thanks.

I bought the book after the 2010 Ripper Conference as Trevor Bond was really positive about it and mentioned it a few times during his lecture. It is a great read, and sheds new light on not only the mystery surrounding her death but on Frances Coles herself.

Having read that the 2012 edition is available on Amazon, I have ordered a copy which should be here in 5 days.

Hi Mike,
I bought it after Trevor's talk too. An excellent book. The new edition came today and I'll be settling down with it later. It looks good. Great jacket too.

Mike,Paul...

You'll notice that Mr. Keefe states ( more than once ) that the Macnaghten publicly named someone as a suspect...and therefore, the Memoranda was made for the public.
Aside from this error ( an error which I don't think affects the quality of the book in the least ), it's terrific and I hope you two hurry up and read it so that we can discuss it.

Hi Howard. I'm alternating my reading between a few books at the moment, one of which is Keefe's. Does John Keefe not have internet access? It's a shame he's never joined the boards.

Incidentally, the other books I'm reading are Hand of a Woman, the Carnac Ripper book, Mary's Mosaic (it's a JFK book), and Cemetery John (about the Lindbergh case - might just blow it wide open). The Carnac book, is really a great read, in spite of the efforts of a few people who try to pretend there's any possibility it's legit. Hand of a Woman is also well-written, though one gets the impression our leg is being pulled by the author - pun intended. But seriously, I think the book was written with a big giant WINK. It appears to be selling like hotcakes, though.

Yours truly,

Tom Wescott

Tom:

Mr. Keefe does have Internet access...and I have corresponded with him in the past. I'm going to send him some questions (previously mentioned) but if you have some to add to the list, by all means send them to me or put them on this thread, if you have time.

I'll have to get the Carnac book if it's a good read as you remarked. Thanks for the tip.

John's a really lovely chap but he was flamed beyond endurance over on the other site and he's thus a bit wary of online forums as a result. I reckon How might be able to persuade him to join here, though.

Phil:

I'll make an approach to Mr. K tomorrow morning, with the 5 Questions I prepared.

Phil:

I sent Mr. Keefe a request and a list of 5Q about 20 minutes ago.
