There are many newspaper reports of foreign police forces consulting with Scotland Yard about ripper-like murders. If true, the correspondance with UK police could contain extracts from reports now otherwise lost.

You're absolutely right!

And not just Scotland Yard, the Home and Foreign Offices may also have corresponded with police departments dotted around the globe. In fact, I'm sure they did.
